Detox Ritual

The tools below are what is included in my Detox DIY Kit, use your intuition to choose a suitable replacement item from mother earth and your personal collection.

Elemental Stone:

Inside of your box, you’ll find a black agate stone with one of the four elements etched into the face: earth, air, fire, or water. It’s up to you to decide why this element chose you and how to incorporate it into your life during the current season.

Detox Tea:

Before you begin your ritual, brew a cup of my Detox Tea. My house blend will cleanse the physical body but support emotional detox as well.

Earth Element: Wildflower Seeds

Earth’s sphere of influence involves the physical realm, material abundance, health, security, darkness, and stillness. It’s feminine in nature and may be invoked to balance an excess of air. Persephone, Demeter, Gaia, owls, and cats are some of our favorite earth deities and animal spirits.

Air Element: Moon Incense Cones

The element of air rules the intellectual realm, communication, travel, music, imagination, and in the physical realm, the respiratory system. It carries a masculine essence and may be called upon to balance an excess of earth. Iris, Hathor, Faeries, dragonflies and other winged insects are a few of the more well-known air deities and animal spirits.

Water Element: Shell Jewelry

The element of water influences the spiritual realm, intuition, emotion, empathy, death, rebirth, and dreams. It is feminine in nature and may be invoked to balance an excess of fire. Venus, Neptune, Sirens, dolphins, and fish are some of the most beloved water deities and animal spirits.

Fire Element: Ritual Candle

Fire’s sphere of influence involves energy, creativity, sexuality, passion, destruction, transformation, and is the driving force behind our soul’s purpose. Its energy is masculine and may be called upon to balance an excess of water. Divining with Freya, Hestia, Pele, dragons, snakes, scorpions, or other fire deities may help reignite our hidden desires.

Candle Holder:

Snugly fit the ritual candle into the holder before lighting.

Casting your own magic spells takes skill and patience and isn’t recommended in most cases. I provide these “do it yourself” spells for educational purposes, but it is strongly recommended that you consult an experienced spell caster such as myself and allow me to do the work for you.

– RITUAL–

The intention for this ritual is simple: to promote insight and equilibrium by sowing seeds for the present moment.

Begin by brewing yourself a cup of my Detox Tea and retreating to your sacred space. In addition to the tools provided, you’ll need a lighter and five shallow bowls or plates. Spread out a blanket on the floor and get comfortable.

Orient yourself with the cardinal directions and place four bowls around yourself at the corresponding points. Set the incense to the east, the candle to the south, and the shell to the west. Open the seeds and pour half of them into the fourth bowl and position to the north. Pour the remainder of the seeds into the last bowl and set the elemental agate stone on top. Rest in your lap for the duration of the ritual.

Face the east, the direction of new beginnings, and welcome the element of air into your circle. Light the incense to invite in faeries, goddesses, animals, and spirits of flight. Take a small pinch of seeds from the bowl in your lap and sprinkle over the incense.

Shift to the south and light the candle. Convene with the element of fire to ignite your passions. Speak to volcanic goddess Pele or focus on the chakra within the solar plexus. Take another pinch of seeds from the bowl and sprinkle on the plate surrounding the candle.

Move to the west, the home of water, intuition, and dreams. Today, the shell is on land, but it will forever carry the essence of the ocean. Connect with the element of water by allowing yourself to feel your emotions. If you need help, call on goddesses like Venus and Hapi. Leave them an offering of seeds from your bowl and ask that they join you.

Turn to the north, the direction associated with our earthly reality, including death and transformation. Place your hands directly on the ground to plug into Mother Gaia or speak to Persephone, ruler of the underworld. Take one last pinch of seeds from the bowl resting in your lap and mix with the seeds positioned to the north.

Now that the circle is balanced turn to the direction of your elemental stone and reflect on the characteristics of the element that chose you. How is this element present in your life, and in what areas is it lacking? What can you release to make room for what’s calling to you at this moment? An answer may not be immediately clear, so it’s helpful to take notes and return to them over the next few days, weeks, or months. Spend several minutes in quiet solitude, sensing the energetic nodes that run from your roots to your crown and making sure that the energy is flowing freely.

Snuff out the candle and incense and adorn the shell necklace. Gently combine all the seeds into the bowl with the elemental stone. Rest a cloth over the bowl and set in a cool, dry area. These seeds are ready for planting when you’ve fully embraced the element that reached out to you today.
