Astrology has many layers and it can be confusing when you are beginning to work out how it all fits together. When I first started learning astrology, I would hear things like, degrees, houses, and I don’t know what else! I was like, “What are you talking about? The temperature outside, what does that have to do with my time of birth or where I was born? How is that relevant?”…before you read about the Houses, you should read my Blog on:
Understanding Your Birth Chart
House 1 or Aries
House One is the first house in the chart and the house ruled naturally by Aries. Aries is the sign of beginnings, the Pioneer of the Zodiac! Aries is impulsive! House One is all about the way you assert yourself in the world, the way you establish your sense of Self and individuality in the world. It is about all the things that you wear on your sleeve and people see about you and how you interact with the world.
If House One in your Birth Chart is ruled by Taurus, this Moon will challenge you to think about what you are spending money on impulsively. Where do you spend money without thinking? Where do you waste money?
You may be thinking now about how you earn money. The conjunction between the Blue Moon and Uranus in Taurus, the sign of value and possessions, may bring you a flood of new ideas about how you could be earning money, or spending money. You may find you suddenly feel like leaving your job to set up an exciting business or you may feel the urge to for a big spend. STOP AND THINK first! Is this really right for you? Is it in alignment with what you value about yourself or your values in life? If so, go for it but do it with grace and gratitude. This isn’t a time for a bout of Aries anger or impulsiveness to make you say or do things you regret as you slam a door!
House 2 or Taurus
House Two is the natural home for Taurus. This is the house of the things you value and your self-value. Taurus is an earth sign, so this is mainly about worldly value, possessions and money and also the things that you find beauty in.
This Moon is a particularly big one for you if Taurus is ruling its own house in your birth chart. You may be experiencing emotional overwhelm, especially around how you value yourself and your material wealth and possessions. This Moon may bring some buried memories to the surface, or you may feel you are a bit stuck in the past or in habits and behaviors that you don’t want anymore. Taurus does not like change! This is a good time for you to really think hard about how you are and who you want to become and use the conjunction with Uranus, the change maker. Experience your past memories, let them speak to you about the things you value and then let what no longer serves you go with a sense of freedom and release. This will create space for new and exciting things and a renewed sense of value in your life.
House 3 or Gemini
House Three is the house that rules the way you communicate with others, your style of communication and talents you have in all forms of communication; speaking, writing and non-verbal communication too. This is Gemini’s natural house, the Butterfly of the Zodiac that loves to fly around, gathering experiences. Gemini loves communication as a way of sharing experiences. This is also the house of short-distance travel and your siblings, as the people you grew up with and first shared your early experiences with.
This Moon is going to challenge you to think about how you value your experiences. Taurus doesn’t like change. Is Taurus in this house making you repeat experiences because they are comfortable, doing the same things over and over again, having the same kinds of conversations over and over again. What else do you want to experience in life? Are you making room for new experiences? Taurus loves tradition but with Uranus in Taurus with the Moon, why not use this time to think about what you really value in life and whether it is time to leave some of Taurus’ safety and security behind to make room for some new experiences in life. The Scorpio Sun is throwing its dramatic and hedonistic light on the Moon right now and Uranus is urging you to make some changes. Throw caution to the wind and do something new.
House 4 or Cancer
House Four is the house of your childhood family and the home you grew up in, as well as the family and home you are creating now. This is Cancer’s domain, the sign of care and nurture, of home making and the traditions you grew up with that helped shape the person you are now.
This Moon may be making you think about your family and how much you value them, and they value you. It maybe that you haven’t been able to see family because of lockdowns and Covid restrictions. If there are people who do not make you feel valued, then how can you leave that feeling behind to make room for people who do value you? Can you let go of them or let go of those difficult feelings that consume you in anyway? Are you giving back to people who do make you feel valued? Maybe it’s time for a call or a Zoom chat with someone. Uranus may be urging you to make big changes in your current family, or people you call family. Do you need to make space for a different kind of tribe in your life? You may also feel it’s time to make some changes in your home. Taurus loves comfort, is it comfortable enough or are you overly comfortable there? What do you value about your home and your home life? What can you leave behind to make more room for more of this?
House 5 or Leo
House Five is the house of things that add security to your identity and help you gain a secure sense of self through identifying with people and things that you see yourself reflected in. These things include your creativity, children you may have or your inner child and love affairs. All of these things help you to feel appreciated, noticed and acclaimed by others. They are all things that also include an element of risk, playing games, gambling belong here and this is the house about expressing yourself, which can be risky when you don’t know how you will be received.
If you have House Five in Taurus, this Moon will challenge you to assess if you are doing enough of the things that bring value to your identity. Are you doing enough? Are you having enough fun? Are you giving yourself enough creative space and opportunities? Are you taking risks in the right way or do you need to leave some risk-taking behavior behind right now to make space for new things that align better with your self-values? Taurus is the sign of money. Are you being appreciated at work? Are your talents being used? Are you being seen for the things you bring to your place of work? Can you do more to make sure you are noticed or is it time for a new role?
Leo loves drama and the Sun, Leo’s ruler, is in Scorpio and shining directly on this big emotional Moon and Uranus, the change maker. Be careful not to be too dramatic right now. Think about the changes you could make to bring yourself more appreciation but
STOP AND THINK first! Is this really right for you? Is it in alignment with what you value about yourself or your values in life? If so, go for it but do it with grace and gratitude. This isn’t a time for a dramatic door slam!
House 6 or Virgo
House Six is the house of your health and the way you care and nurture yourself. Virgo is the natural ruler of this house. It is the sign that wants you to analyse yourself, and those around you for every imperfection then seek to perfect everything.
If you have Taurus ruling House Six, you may be somebody who places great personal value on perfecting people but be careful right now. The Scorpio Sun is shining on this Taurus Moon. Scorpio loves to seek the truth but also to show others hard truths about themselves. Be careful that you are not bringing that sting in the tail as you set to coach those around you by showing them hard truths. You may think you are helping them to perfect themselves. You mean to care but this can be hurting others at a time when this Moon is bringing emotional reactions for them. Scorpio likes to get to the truth about others but doesn’t want to show its own. If you are holding up mirrors, are you prepared to turn them on yourself?
Look at the way you view your own imperfections too. Are you being over critical? Leave behind being too harsh on yourself and take some time in this Blue Moon for some real self-care and care for others and do this with grace and in gratitude.
House 7 or Libra
House Seven is the house of long term, intimate or contractual relationships, such as marriage, long term partners and also work and business partners. This is the natural home of Libra, the sign that loves relationships and the sign that wants to bring balance to everything. Libra will often sacrifice its own needs and wants to please people and to prevent upsetting apple carts in relationships. Taurus is the sign of value, including material wealth and money. This Blue Moon may be making you wonder about financial fairness in relationships. Are you receiving as much as you are giving? Is financial sharing in your marriage or partnership fair? Are you giving more than you are getting out of business relationships? Taurus does not like change and will want you, even more, to stay with the status quo here but, if this is not fair, if you are being that people pleaser and giving more than you get, then now is the time to use Uranus, the rebellious change maker, to make some changes.
House 8 or Scorpio
House Eight is the home of Scorpio, the mysterious Scorpion that will sting to get to the truth about others but doesn’t want to give its own away. Scorpio is the most passionate sign of the Zodiac and can find value and power from other people and their status and money. It loves drama. It loves all things occult and taboo. Scorpio has a hard exterior but, inside, it feels everything. The Scorpion hides a heap of emotion and intuition. The Sun is in Scorpio at the moment and this Scorpio energy is shining right on the Taurus Moon. Scorpio and Taurus are opposite signs. Taurus concerns itself with the things through which we, ourselves, bring value to life. Scorpio is about the way others bring value to our lives, Taurus doesn’t like change. Scorpio is the sign of transformation.
If you Taurus rules house eight you will be feeling the pull of these extremes. You may find yourself clinging to things that really need to come to an end, a relationship, a job or something that you are putting too much energy into and it does not serve you or align to your values in life. Let Scorpio bring you transformation right now. Uranus is conjunct with the Moon in Taurus, bringing some rebellion and change. Uranus can bring surprising and unexpected changes. Maybe there is a change that has been thrust upon you from out of the blue, in a relationship or at work. Something new will come along and you will realize that these changes, eventually, enabled you to rise like a phoenix in a new life that suits you so much better than the old one.
House 9 or Sagittarius
House Nine is the house of ideals, spirituality, philosophy, study and long-distance travel. The things that make us feel connected to something bigger than ourselves. Taurus in House Nine brings some contemplative, earthly magic and spirituality. Taurus loves nature and finds its peace in beauty. This Blue Moon is time to pause and take care of yourself by spending time in nature and the things you find beautiful. House Nine is the house of ideals. Are you living your life in accordance with your ideals? Or do you have so many ideals you are scattered and not able to live by any of them? Leave behind any ideals and spiritual or philosophical ideas that are not serving you. Maybe you have spiritual beliefs you have inherited from the traditions of your family, but these are not your own and don’t fit your ideals and values. Uranus is with this Moon to bring about rebellion and change. Leave anything that is not yours behind and make space for new spiritual or philosophical practices and ideals that are yours.
House 10 or Capricorn
House Ten is the house of careers, business and your achievements in life. This is the natural home of Capricorn, the worker of the Zodiac. Capricorn is the Mountain Goat that will get to the top no matter what, planning, executing, seeing things through with strength and tenacity.
Uranus, the rebellious bringer of change, in conjunction with The Blue Moon, is going to stir up a hornet’s nest for steady Capricorn and in this house of work. Taurus loves status and wealth and this, together with Capricorn’s influence of hard work, may make you somebody who is centered on work and business and has the idea that ‘time is money.’ The Moon may make you feel emotional about the things you miss out on through overwork. Then Uranus will push you to rebel, to have some fun, to play, to make up for all the things you neglect in life. What do you value in life that you don’t get to do because you are working too hard? Do you value work too much? Can you leave some of that behind to do more of the things you are missing out on?
House 11 or Aquarius
House Eleven is the house of friendship and acts of humanitarianism. It is the home of Aquarius, the sign that wants to influence people, your outward appearances and how you present yourself to the world, to innovate and have new ideas and share them for the good of the group, society and humanity.
If House Eleven is ruled by Taurus, this Moon will challenge you to think about your friendships, who you value and how much value you are getting from people. Aquarius is ruled by Uranus so the planet of change and rebellion, currently in conjunction with The Moon, is at home in this house. Uranus and this emotional Moon may urge you to make changes in your friendships. Are you fed up with the same routines with people? Are you being appreciated for the contributions you bring to a group of people? The Scorpio Sun is shining on the Moon, bringing a sense of drama and passion and a quest to solve mysteries and learn about all things taboo and occult. You may feel drawn to a new tribe who are more exciting than the your more Taurus traditional and secure group of friends. This Moon is all about thinking about the things you value and leaving behind things that no longer serve your values, or that don’t make you feel valued. Do you have people in your circles that don’t make you feel valued or appreciated? If so, now could be the time to let them go. Who celebrates you? Are you celebrating them and giving back to the people who do make you feel valued? Maybe it’s time for a call or a Zoom chat with someone you have neglected!
House 12 or Pisces
House Twelve is the house of the unconscious, of things that are hidden, the prisons we make for ourselves (as well as actual prisons). It is the house of learning on an emotional and Soul level through loneliness and suffering and the spiritual growth that goes with these things. It is the house of utter selfless service.
If House Twelve is ruled by Taurus, this Moon Blue Moon in conjunction with the rebellious changemaker, Uranus, will bring you deep intuitive emotion about the things you value. This could be material value and money. Any emotions you have about these things may be exaggerated, such as concerns and worries or guilt. There is a danger of being consumed with ruminations. You can help this by thinking about the things in life that bring you lasting value. These are the things to hold onto and spend on. Think about the money you spend without any feeling, the fads and whims and plan to stop spending on these things. House Twelve is deeply emotional but Taurus is an earth sign that brings grounding here. This Moon is an emotional time and Uranus may bring sudden changes that could impact you on a deep level. Taurus finds peace in beauty and in nature. Make sure you spend time in nature around this Moon to help you feel safe, secure and grounded.
