Which stage of life is the most important? Some might claim that infancy is the key stage, when a baby’s brain is wide open to new experiences that will influence all the rest of its later life. Others might argue that it’s adolescence or young adulthood, when physical health is at its peak. Many cultures around the world value late adulthood more than any other, arguing that it is at this stage that the human being has finally acquired the wisdom necessary to guide others. Who is right?
The cycles of the human body includes sleeping, breathing, eating, blood flow, being awake, and much more. Layer that with the Chakra’s and stages of development and you have a fascinating little map to guide you. I am all about guidance, and below you will find the eleven stages.
There is so much written on this subject. I suggest, if it interest you as much as it does me, to do some further digging and research.
Age 0 ~ 7: The stage of Early Development
During this cycle we are learning and growing physically & spiritually. You react to life’s situations. You began to interpret what is right and wrong, good or bad, for you. Spiritually there is no right or wrong but to live on the planet earth and “play the game”’ a person needs to know the rules. Some of the rules are for your survival, like what can hurt your body. The rules of society. Which we call laws were created to establish boundaries so that’s everyone rights would be respected. Then, there are the rules which are your parents’ concepts and attitudes that you accept as your own. This stage becomes the foundation of the future we want to build.
***Chakra: This life stage is dominated by the Root Chakra, a time to ground ourselves. We begin to explore the world around us, our immune system is activated and we begin to form our energy shell or aura.
Age 7 ~ 14: The Stage of Expansion
Two major aspects during this cycle; one is desire to be a part of your family and to be cared for; yet, we also have the desire to be an individual and make our own decisions. Discovering individuality—finding our true self. The biological event of puberty unleashes a powerful set of of changes in our bodies.
***Chakra: This life stage is dominated by the Sacral Chakra. We begin to embrace our sexual energy, identify ourselves with gender. During this life cycle, we are eager to learn new things.
Age 14 ~ 21: A Time of Experience
The age of independence. Freedom of choice is very important during this time. We try to find the place where we belong and try to join different social groups. We do need a few guidelines to live by, during this cycle. If a person doesn’t feel they have the freedom they need to explore, they will rebel.
By the same token, they need to know someone is backing them, if they feel no one cares during this stage they may go to extremes and possibly hurt themselves to gain attention.
During this cycle, we develop a strong desire to appear attractive, confident and sociable; yet they are often come across as unsure of themselves.
One part seeking freedom and understanding; while the other part of their nature is searching for something or someone to surrender that freedom to.
***Chakra: This life stage is dominated by the Solar Plexus Chakra, we believe we are ready to change the world. It is the time when we learn the rules society plays by in practice. Most people lose their virginity during this cycle and it makes us think that we are ready for adult life.
Age 21 ~ 28: The Stage of Involvement
We are impatient to find our niche and purpose in life. We are shaping our life’s dream. We seek adventure, look for inner strength, romance and intelligence. We have a lot of feelings about what we think we should do in the areas of marriage, education, and a career. These “shoulds” are strongly influenced by our parents, our culture and our rescinds.
We are seeking to build a firm foundation for the future; and to make a strong moral commitment.
***Chakra: This life stage is dominated by the Heart Chakra, we are ready to enter the real world.
Age 28 ~ 35: A period of Budding Change
We begin to make changes, altering our beliefs, making new choices and deepen our commitments. The best way to meet these challenges is to remember to maintain a willingness to change. If we don’t like our own patterns, we need to remember we can change them.
There is a need to widen and expand our being~ness and we become more self-concerned. We feel the need to go into the world and make our mark.
***Chakra: This life stage is dominated by the Throat Chakra and is responsible for our creativity and willpower. We are free to exercise our creativity and will as long as we stay within the limits of the mission given to us by our higher self. If we have not done it by this life stage, it is a great time to establish a true communication channel with our own Spirit guides.
Age 35 ~ 42: A stage of Evaluation
A greater concern with the sense of time. There is an evaluation of one’s life— a survey to examine “where have I been? And how do I plan to spend my life from now on? “We may ask ourselves, “Why am I doing all this? What do I really believe in?”
In this cycle we begin to realize that we cannot find security in others, but only in ourselves. We start to examine our true feelings more. There is an urge to break out of old habit patterns. We are seeking a new way of life.
*** Chakra: This life stage is dominated by the Third Eye Chakra, our inner philosopher. We begin to look for the meaning in everything. We need to walk the walk, we cannot just talk the talk anymore. It is the final battle between the Wisdom of Heart and the Wisdom of Logic.
Age 42 ~ 49: A Period of Urgency
We move away from the stereotyped roles and more into the self. It is like we are reborn spiritually. We are learning to be more honest with our feelings. We start learning to act more on our own internal authority.
We can either listen to our ego – stop evolving and begin to decay or we follow the voice of our higher self and begin to cooperate with Nature through realizing our own creative potential that was given to us at birth. If we are not able to look into our true feelings during this cycle, we may have a sense of stagnation and futility– a felling of standing still. Fear takes hold we become more sociable, and we keep running from taking an honest look at ourselves.
IF we are really able to face ourselves and find a renewal of purpose, we can build a more authentic life structure and move into greater happiness.
***Chakra: This stage is dominated by the Crown Chakra, the main energy source. It is the time when we have a choice.
Age 49 ~ 56: A Cycle of Commitment to Ones’s Self
The cycle of inventory. This is where we really start understanding ourselves. Regrouping our experiences to see if we are doing what you came to planet earth to do. If not, they will begin to shift their energy and start searching for that spiritual direction, trying to find the missing pieces in his life.
If a person has not moved into his main thrust, they may begin to feel troubled. Becoming to harsh, fall into depression, sudden mood changes, feel stress, become irritable and impatient, they will find themselves reviewing the past and evaluating things they have done. To avoid this, they need to be completely honest with themselves as to whether or not they have been enjoying life and feeling fulfilled. You can not find the answers by analyzing and dissecting yourself, or outside yourself. You need to regroup your feelings and be sincere with yourself within your intellect because the source of direction lies in your true feelings.
If we can find a new inner contentment and acceptance of ourselves, and are flexible and open to change, we can begin doing some of the greatest work in life.
Age 56 ~ 63: A Cycle Of Inner Tranquility
We generally have learned to be at peace with ourselves. Preoccupied with the inner life. We have learned to be responsible for ourselves. We tend to think things more carefully before reacting. This is a cycle of finding our true integrity.
Age 63~ Beyond: The Cycles of Inner Peace
Wisdom. Review and take a survey of all we have experienced and accomplished. Become aware there is a natural progression in life. We have learned to value our time and appreciate the experience of the moment. We have acquired a rich repository of experiences that helps guide others, helping us to avoid the mistakes of the past while reaping the benefits of life’s lessons.
Transition to the other side is inevitable. We learn to give up old illusions that are no longer true for us. The only really important thing is our spiritual un-foldment because that is what we take with us through out time.
