Do you wish that you had a treasure map to find the things you lose? Do you want help deciding what to eat for lunch? What to wear tomorrow? Well you’re in luck sister! A pendulum can help you with just that!
During the month of October, (but anytime works, also) the veil is especially thin. As we collectively enter the dark months, messages from the beyond begin to call to us as if fog rolling across an open field.
During this time, you may feel called to practice the art of divination. Divination can act as North Star and can bring a light to our practice as if striking a match for a long tapered candle in the deepest wood. Maybe Pendulums are the key you’ve been waiting for to unlock what waits just behind your conscious mind. Pendulums can allow communication from our own intuition, our guides and our ancestors. They can allow us to seek the answers that we are looking for, access to the soul records, and access to our divine intuition.
And what is a Pendulum?
A dowsing pendulum is a crystal or stone that dangles at the end of a chain. Dowsing has been used for centuries to detect water and other buried objects. Pendulums help to make the unconscious, conscious. First, you must select your pendulum. Find a pendulum that you connect with. Maybe it’s a specific stone that you want to work with, a birthstone, relevant to the season, or to the question you’d like to gain insight on.
You can also create your own pendulum if you have a trinket, a coin, or a weighted object that carries importance to you. Maybe you have an heirloom that you’d like to work with or another charged object.
Once you select this pendulum, you’ll want to clear the crystal (charging it under the full moon is always a beautiful decision), and make sure that the pendulum is in energetic alignment. When we ask a question of the pendulum, the pendulum traces towards the answer on the grid we’ve set up below it. You’ll want to establish a baseline with the pendulum by testing questions you already consciously know the answer to. What is yes, what is no. Connect with your higher self and ask for guidance and support. Pendulums are great for yes and no questions, but you may want to use a sort of grid to help ask additional questions.
Grids can be handwritten, they can be from books, mats, or perhaps an altar cloth that you like to work with. Grids can be simple yes and no, have letters, runes, numeration, astrological insights, or other divination lettering to help support your divining. It may be important to take note of seasonal Sabbats, and other ways to incorporate the energies of the current world into your divination practice. As with all forms of divination, nothing is set in stone. Proceed with protection, grounding, and an understanding of your own practice and what feels correct for you.
Blessed be, in love & light Astro~Mia
